Description

Original deep-groove pressing of the rare two-record set Modern Jazz Gallery on Kapp KXL 5001. The playing surfaces are in near-new condition; perhaps played once. The gatefold cover shows very light shelf wear - rubbing along the top seam, ¼" wear at the bottom right corners - but is bright and clean throughout. The tracks are all previously unissued, with four tracks each by six groups: Med Flory Orchestra with Bill Perkins and Mel Lewis; Russell Garcia Orchestra with Bud Shank and Art Pepper; Warne Marsh Quintet with Ted Brown and Ronnie Ball; Marty Paich Orchestra with Richie Kamuca and Herb Geller; John Towner Quartet with Howard Roberts and Curtis Counce; Billy Usselton Septet with Mel Lewis.
