Up for Auction is an extremely rare Australian Issue of the 7", 45 rpm single and Soul Monster, by "Midnight" in the UK, of  "Don't Bother To Knock/Keep On Walking By", on the Australian RCA Victor label.
The record was originally pressed in the United Kingdom under exactly the same category number- AHA-514. Record label number 103122. The UK pressing was on the Ariola/Hansa Label and was released in 1978 with a picture sleeve.
The Australian RCA Victor pressing was also released in 1978 to coincide with the UK release but was only pressed in very small numbers and is extremely rare and hard to find. It was not released with a picture sleeve.
The in demand, seventies dancer was produced by sometime Northern Singer, Kenny Lynch. Nice crossover stuff for Northern and Modern Soul fans alike.
The song "Don't Bother To Knock", came second in the Eurovision song contest in 1978 and was Britain's fine, almost winning entry.  On the "B" side is the punchy soul groove number "Keep On Walking By".
The record has become a modern "killer", soul monster and is played by DJ's like Terry Jones. The UK version is sought after world wide, lesser pressed versions from other foreign countries are even more sought after. 
The Australian RCA Victor version has never ever been listed or sold on Ebay. It is not currently listed on  the biggest vinyl record sites in the world, Discogs or Music Stack because it is just so rare. UK versions in VG condition sell for $250 Aus. plus.
To give you an idea of this records value, the Spanish pressing sold in mint condition on Ebay in 2007 for $540 Aus. The Australian version is much, much rarer. A mint/mint UK, first edition release, is currently listed on the worldwide, record sales site, Discogs for $255 Aus.
The record was made by RCA Victor in Sydney, Australia in 1978 under license for "Hansa Musik Produktions GmbH".

This actual record, shown in the photos above, has never ever been taken out of the generic paper sleeve since it's purchase from the Geraldton Record Store in 1978, it came from the rare record collection of a now deceased DJ and has certainly never ever been played. 
The record is bright, shiny and pristine and in Brand New condition. The vinyl is completely free of any defects or damage, the actual record is graded as MINT. 
The label on side A has a tiny chink in the paper, just to the left of the "V" in Victor and is graded VGC++. 
The label on side B is graded VGC++ because it has a  tiny scratch in the paper label running through the word "WALKING" in the title, the record came from the manufacturer in this condition and the labels received this slight flaw in transit from the manufacturer to the record store.

The the record is then removed from the sleeve, the sleeve and record are then slipped into a clear, plastic, protective cover and taped inside the cardboard package to prevent damage to the record by movement while in transit. The sleeve on this 7" record is only generic.
