Description

Mongo Santamaria – Mongo In Havana 1962 Fantasy Stereo 8055 Plays EX Rare! Vinyl looks and plays clean. Great Cuban traditional sounding percussion and vocals. Fantasy Stereo 8055, "Bembe" not on cover. Track 2 - Listed as "Oya" on label, but "Olla De" on back of jacket. Track listing below back cover liner notes. Laminate cover with some tape around top/bottom of spine, but is VG+ cover. Comes with new, poly lined LP sleeve and new outer sleeve. This album is authentic afro-cuban rumba y guaguancó music, a traditional bembé!  Side 1 is for the dieties and side 2 is for the feet. The recording features the legendary rumberos Carlos Embale and Mercedita Valdés on vocals. This was the last time US based musicians traveled to play and record in Cuba until the 1977.
Album hand cleaned with Tergikleen (used by the Library of Congress), Kimtech Wipes (Low Lint, Anti Static), Distilled Water and Brushed with an Anti-Static Brush. Please see all pics for condition.
