From the archives of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this piece of classic rock music history. The Monkees. The Birds, The Bees and The Monkees LP MONO. Australian pressing. May 1968. RCA. COM 109. The RARE true mono Australian pressing of The Monkees’ fifth studio album, released in May 1968. The Australian pressing is notable as it has the TRUE MONO mix taken from the US masters, unlike the fold-down mono found on UK and other international releases. Record in Very Good condition, some hairlines and scratches that don’t affect play, very occasional click and some crackle. Sounds great regardless. Flipback cover in Good Plus condition, a bit battered with ring wear, a tear on spine, stains on back cover, pen and texta marks and general wear. Sticker remnant on top left of front cover that could have been the Mono sticker. The Australian cover was manufactured crappy so it didn’t take much to get it to this condition.
