Description
I'm offering the Montrose album "Montrose" released in 1973 by Warner Bros. Records. In stereo. Length: 32:22, 8 hard rock songs. Catalog #BS 2740. In its original jacket and Warner/Reprise sleeve. I've owned this since it came out and have not played it. No obvious scuff marks or scratches. Condition is very good. This has been stored upright in my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. The jacket is in excellent condition. Sleeve inside is in mint condition. Included is a B&W publicity photo printed on an 8½"x11" sheet of paper and a bio. Both of these are free - NOT part of the listing price. My feeling is that these should have accompanied all album sales back in the day for fans to better know the musicians whom they just forked over their wages to. Montrose marks the career debut of singer-guitarist Sammy Hagar, who would later achieve significant success as a solo artist and as a member of Van Halen. Montrose was guitarist Ronnie Montrose's first record leading his own band, after having done session work for various musicians, including Van Morrison, Herbie Hancock and Edgar Winter. The band included Denny Carmassi (drums), Bill Church (bass), and a then-unknown Sammy Hagar (vocals). The album was not successful upon release, peaking at No. 133 on the US Billboard 200. "Rock Candy" and "Bad Motor Scooter" were the only tracks to receive radio airplay. "Montrose" eventually proved to be an international sleeper hit, selling in excess of one million copies and attaining platinum status in 1986. © Wikipedia Someone has uploaded the entire album to youtube if you want to give it a listen before purchasing.
