Description

Here’s a great LP for you who dig the Moody Blues. Of course, ALL of their LPs were simply outstanding and “Days of Future Passed”, one of their earliest, is no exception. But in this auction you won’t find the average pressing of this LP. Instead, in this auction is a VERY RARE PRESSING.

In This Auction:

·       “DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED” by The Moody Blues

·       This is DERAM RECORDS DE 16012.

·       This LP was released in 1968.

·       This is the VERY RARE MONAURAL (MONO) PRESSING that was ONLY released to radio stations for on-air play to promote the LP.

·       Because the LP was issued in MONO as a PROMOTIONAL LP, it had a very small and limited number pressed which has made a tough LP to find. In fact, I searched for 10 years before I ran across this copy in a box of LPs at a flea market. As I ran across another copy at a decent price at a recent record show, I am letting this copy go.

·       Check your Goldmine Price Guide and you will see its rarity by the value assigned to it.

·       It has 2 GREAT CLASSIC MOODY BLUES TUNES: “Tuesday Afternoon” and “Nights in White Satin”. One can really get into listening to this LP as these and the other great cuts carry us through the times of a typical day, from dawn to night. It is one of the earliest concept (or themed) LPs that I know of.

·       The COVER is in STRONG VG CONDITION. There is moderate overall wear and some corner wear on the top and bottom left corners (at top and bottom of the spine). There are some tears on the rear cover at the bottom where the slick is glued with some missing paper. There are NO SEAM SPLITS! All seams are nice and strong.

·       The COVER has “MONO” printed in the lower left corner on the front cover.

·       “DEMONSTRATION NOT FOR SALE” is stamped in red ink on the rear cover near the bottom.

·       The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There are light surface hairlines/scuffs but still lots of gloss all over. Hairlines are surface/light, nothing deep at all. Labels are nice and clean!

It’s a GREAT RARE MONO LP to add to your vinyl collection!

FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY grade the LPs and 45s I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. And please check my other auctions for other LPs you may want to add to your collection. Be high bidder on several and combine shipping! Winning bidder must remit payment within 5 days of auction close by PayPal. Add $4.00 for shipping to a U.S. address via media mail with tracking.
