Steve Morgen Morgen (ABC Probe 4507) superb heavy psych LP, the best on the label and one of the best major label psych LPs. Comes with the rare insert. Cover has a drillhole and some moderate wear; the disc is really beautiful with only slight hairlines and plays cleanly with little or no surface noise and you get that nice heavy vinyl and the sound really jumps off that! As for complaints by some that his voice is not great and the songs don't stick to clearcut structures they're not psych fans. He's evocative and the songs' slight tendency to wander (into thickets of metal riffing usually) is one of the album's pleasures. Has some of the same blend of heaviness and melodicism as Faine Jade although this one rocks harder and has better drumming. We've been referring to this LP a lot here in the Archives and it is a definite yardstick for the late 60s guitar psych style. Despite its major label origins the sound is remarkably raw and garagey, with no compromises anywhere. Some rate it as the best major label LP all over and it sure blows a lot of mega-rarities away, as well as ALL the LA heavy psych competition from the same era, with an intense and genuinely psychedelic mood. Punky vocals, great and highly original material (especially on side 1), acid guitars that won't quit - I can't see anyone into psych not digging this.

• If an uninsured or unregistered package goes missing, please be patient. Don't file a claim - give it time to arrive. Despite what you may hear about the US Postal Service, they are in fact very reliable. The number of packages we've sent that actually remained lost is virtually zero out of tens of thousands.
• We do refund for any reason provided the item returns in the same condition it left (ie we don't cover postal damage.
