ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This handsome and exceedingly rare LP – in a "Red Stereo" jacket from Heliodor (428 003, Westminister license German DGG pressing, blue/pink label, stereo) features Erica Morini's lyrical account of Brahms's Violin Concerto in D Major Op. 77, accompanied in warmly sympathetic fashion by Artur Rodzinski and the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of London (Beechams's RPO) – recorded at London's Walthamstow Assembly Hall on 9 September 1956. Morini's rendtion is well within the Heifetz, Oistrakh, Kogan class.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is GOOD. There is a fair amount of edgewear, particularly at corners, as well as creasing, a few minor scuffs to the front panel, and mild ringwear to the rear panel. However, there are no owners' markings, or other defects and the album remains solid, bright, and attractive in appearance – overall, still an attractive collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. Although the surfaces are not CD silent – there is light surface noise – in general the playback is quite superb. Only those requiring a flawless or near-MINT copy need hesitate – overall, this is a very good collector's copy.
