Description

The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Morrissey - 'Education In Reverse' Incorrectly-Titled Australian LP - 1988

Apparently due to a misunderstanding regarding the "EDUCATION IN REVERSE" etching which appears on the run-out groove of the UK pressing, and which was incorrectly assumed to be the title of the album, the first run pressings of the Australian 'Viva Hate' vinyl LPs in 1988 were mistakenly given the wrong title! These mis-titled copies were then supposed to have been recalled and replaced with the correctly-titled versions. Some of these curious LPs are clearly in circulation, however, though it is not clear how many are in existence. The erroneous title appears both on the front of the LP sleeve (in red letters, see photo) and on the record labels making this a strange and highly sought-after Morrissey collectable. This interesting and progressively more rare item does not often appear for sale, and particularly in the superb condition which is offered here (see below).

The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, with the record clearly having never been played. There are not even any surface marks on the highly-glossy vinyl, and its appearance is as-new. The original lyric inner sleeve is also present and is similarly in near mint condition, with no splittling or even any signs of wear. The rare mis-titled outer sleeve is in strong excellent condition, and has only very minor signs of wear due to handling. This manifests itself as just some mild 'corner wear' in a few places and some very small beginnings of creases towards the spine. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
