Description
A very rare and collectable copy of Mose Allison- Autumn Song released in 1961 on the English Esquire label, Catalogue No 32-131. Pressed using the original US metalwork, engineer Rudy Van Gelder's initials can be seen etched in the run-out grooves ( see photos).
The heavyweight vinyl has been ultrasonically cleaned in a Degritter Mark II. It has retained a glossy lustre with faint scuffs, paper marks and hairlines, non feelable. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded VG.
Playback is really enjoyable & reveals a typically vibrant Esquire mono sound quality. It plays well with no jumping, sticking or skating. There is low background noise in places, not overpowering, more noticeable on Side 1 which could be on the original tape? Side 2 is generally much quieter.
The flipback laminate sleeve is in reasonable condition for the age with no laminate peel and just a small area of "lift" where mild ringwear is starting to show ( see photos) A few creases & the usual corner rubbing. The rear notes section is pretty clean with Mose's signature visible to the top LH section. Some orange marks visible. No splits, tears, stains or tape repairs.
The record is housed in a heavyweight Emitex type inner sleeve.
An opportunity to own a very rare & collectable album, fully cleaned & tested. Record will be sent separated out to prevent transit splits.
