Description

Your bidding on a Motorola Quadraline quadraphonic 8 track car player. The player is for negative earth vehicles only.. All terminating leads are marked for easy connection. The player has been tested and is working perfectly. The condition is good for it's age. (around 30 years old). but some chrome markings on the controls have seen better days! See pictures. I have owned it from new and it has been in used in only one car. 8 tracks were always trouble, especially double play ones of which some are included with this sale. ( For the youngsters among us, the double play was the equivalent of the double album, so the tape was twice as long) On the advent of music cassettes they quickly lost their appeal and I as well as most others changed to music cassettes, pioneered by Phillips.

With the player are 37 8 track cartridges. Of these five are Quadraphonic. The player will select the correct mode for these by a cut out in the top of the cartridge. It will then run on two track change settings instead of four.( producing 4 tracks of sound per track, x 2 = 8 ! The quadraphonic cartridges are obviously double play devices. ie the tape is twice as long. The rest are standard cartridges and on the Motorola play as any modern car audio setup using a front/rear four speaker system. All the tapes have been played and all but a couple seem OK. I've enclosed an opening plate I made many years ago to split the cases for maintenance. This saves using five screwdrivers!
