Original UK CBS orange label stereo press LP.

Mott the Hoople originally hailed from Hereford and this was their sixth LP recorded in April 1973 and released in July. The album (which sold well reaching no.6 in the UK), featured two hit singles 'All the Way From Memphis & Honaloochie Boogie'. The band was at the height of their success and were touring the US & Europe, where the album brought the band a loyal following.

This is the original issue with the rough orange CBS labels, the Unipak PVC die-cut sleeve, the lyric inner, with the A-1 B-1 matrices and A-15 A-11 stampers of the first press!
  The Shorewood Packaging Ltd matt gatefold die-cut PVC sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear & light storage rubbing on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, with some fading and the lyric inner is intact, slightly discoloured & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines/scuffs and one or two needle marks/scuffs that do not affect play visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss or crackle and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some light & brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really great, loud and clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; S-69038, A-1 stamper A-11, B-1 stamper A-15. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1973 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!

  All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!   All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide.
  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
