Description
Great rare classical find! This is Shubert - Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished" and Symphony No. 2 - performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO) under the direction of Karl Munchinger. On the black Decca Stereo label (SXL 2156) from the UK, this original wide band, deep groove disc is in nice shape. Side 2 looks to be an easy VG++ if not slightly better. Side 1 does have a couple of transverse marks / hairlines that appear to be on the surface and shouldn't significantly impact play. Would still give this side a VG+ overall. Nice clean labels on both sides with just a couple of spindle marks. Should play very nicely. Comes in original laminated, fold-over outer jacket - I believe they call this the "scalloped" edge jacket as you can from the pics. Jacket is pretty nice overall and clean. Does have some shelfwear, more notable on the reverse. Quite presentable. What you see in the pics is what you will get. Don't let this original SXL get away. Starting it low to see where it goes.
