Original pressing of the Art Brut pioneer's
proto-noise foray into composition
 
New York: Finnadar Records, 1973. Stereo. SR-9002. Near Mint in Very Good+ sleeve with a little bit of wear and toning along top seam. A very nice copy. According to label: "All selections composed, performed, recorded and realized by Jean Dubuffet in January thru April 1961." The Art Brut pioneer had created Music Brut, which sounds like screetchy proto-noise created with conventional instruments to these unsophisticated ears. Decades ahead of its time, with absolutely zero commercial potential and yet distributed by Atlantic Records in the USA-- turns out disco was a slightly better bet for them than Music Brut. Who knew?
