Canadian-born Myrna Lorrie began her recording career in 1954 at the age of fourteen. Teamed with Buddy De Val, the duet secured a recording contract with Abbot Records, where she joined such well known artists as Jim Reeves, The Browns, Ginny Wright & Tom Tall, Bonnie Guitar and many others.

In 1955 Myrna was voted most promising new female country artist by Jamboree Magazine. Early in 1956 Myrna turned to recording as a single artist and performed on shows with Opry favorites like Sonny James, Hank Snow, Marty Robbins, Carl Smith, Slim Whitman and Ferlin Huskey.

Soon after, Myrna married and settled down in the Lakehead (Thunder Bay) and retired from music for a number of years. When she returned her recording of Your Special Day gained wide acceptance throughout the United States and Canada. It was followed by a number of other top recordings released in Canada by Columbia Records. In 1971 she was voted Top Female Country Artist in Canada. (liner notes)
