THIS IS ANOTHER ULTRA-RARE 1ST EDITION CLASSIC 1963 SURFING ROCK LP ALBUM BY A GROUP KNOWN AS THE "THE VENTURES." IT IS SIMPLY ENTITLED "SURFING" WITH THE DOLTON RECORD LABEL SHOWN ON THE ALBUM COVER NUMBERED BLP-2022. IT HAS THE LINE "BIG WAVE RIDER - SAMMY LEE" NEAR THE LOGO ON THE FRONT COVER.
THE SONGS ARE AMONG THE MOST POPULAR OF ALL THE GREAT SURFING ALBUMS (AND THERE ARE MANY ICONIC SURFING LP's).  INCLUDES MY FAVORITE SONG, "PIPELINE."
THE ALBUM COVER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO MAJOR FLAWS. THE ORIGINAL OWNER DID WRITE HIS NAME ON THE BACK COVER (AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS). TO INSURE NO SEAM SPLITS, HE ALSO APPLIED A SMALL SLIVER OF TRANSPARENT TAPE A FEW INCHES ALONG THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES NEAR THE SIDE OF THE COVER THAT THE RECORD IS INSERTED. THE TRANSPARENT TAPE IS SO SMALL, YOU DON'T EVEN SEE IT UNLESS YOU LOOK FOR IT, AND THE LITTLE SLIVER OF TRANSPARENT TAPED DID PRESERVE THE SEAMS OF THE ALBUM AFTER ALL THESE DECADES.
THE BEST NEWS IS THAT THE VINYL IS NEAR MINT AND IS A REAL PRIZE TO ANY COLLECTOR. I PLAYED BOTH SIDES, AND IT PLAYED BEAUTIFULLY.  YOU CAN'T ASK A VINYL RECORD TO PLAY ANY BETTER.  NO FLAWS - NO SCRATCHES. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE VINYL STILL HAS FULL GLOSS AND IS A HEAVY VINYL.
YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS RARE 1ST EDITION ALBUM OR IT'S VINYL. THE WHOLE PACKAGE IS VERY CLEAN COMPARED TO SO MANY OTHER ISSUES I HAVE SEEN.  IT WAS RECORDED ON THE ORIGINAL DOLTON RECORD LABEL 57-58 YEARS AGO.  YOU COULDN'T ASK AN ALBUM AND VINYL TO BE IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE AFER NEARLY 6 DECADES.  I DOUBT YOU COULD FIND A CLEANER ISSUE WHEN YOU WHEN YOU SEARCH CLOSELY.  
IF YOU ARE GOING TO OWN THIS RARE ALBUM, IT MIGHT AS WELL BE ONE IN EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT CONDITION. VINYL CONDITION DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH THESE VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE ALBUMS.
I AM NEVER HESITANT TO SHOW THE EXCELLENT CONDITION OF ALL MY VINYL ALBUMS.  I HAVE POSTED AS MANY PHOTOS OF THE ALBUM AS I COULD.  YOU CAN SEE BY LOOKING AT THE VINYL RECORD AND LABELS THAT THE RECORD CERTAINLY HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED. ANY WHITE REFLECTIONS YOU SEE ON THE SHINY VINYL ARE SIMPLY THAT OF CHANDLIERS I HAVE HANGING OVER THE TABLE WHERE I TAKE MY PHOTOS.  THEY, OF COURSE, ARE NOT ON THE VINYL.
