The Rhythm is an international culture. It links our youth with the youth of all peoples of the world. It bridges borders and oceans. It's language is a universal language. These words, from the words of journalist Uri Avnery at the opening of the first rhythm festival held in November 1968 at the Cinerama Club in Tel Aviv, also appear on the back cover of the recording of the event. The world's music boom of 1967 arrived to Israel on the wave wave of the radio station "Hagal Hakal", which connects together the sounds of Rock bands like The Beatles and Rolling Stones with the sound of the soul and groove of James Brown, and the pop of Tom Jones, and the State of Israel The young nation, only 20 years old and a little at the height of the euphoria after the Six-Day War, imagines herself connecting to the world via radio and mountaintops Codes.
