Available for purchase is the VERY RARE THREE-LP BOX SET, "Classics", by the Nat 'King' Cole Trio, originally released in France and then re-issued by Capitol Records (1551863 PM 534) in 1984.  All liner notes are in French.  The records are MINT (two of three) and NM (one); the outer and inner covers are MINT; and the inner sleeves are MINT (two) and EX (one). It includes 42 of the Nat King Cole Trio's hits from the 1940s including "Sweet Lorraine", "Body and Soul", "What is this Thing Called Love", "It's Only a Papermoon", "Sweet Georgia Brown", "Honeysuckle Rose", "Embraceable You", "Makin' Whopee", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You", "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66", "Straighten Up and Fly Right", "Moonlight in Vermont" and many, many more.  

My wife has owned this set for over 30 years, and we are only letting it go to raise funds for the memorial scholarship described in the next paragraph, below.  This will make a great holiday gift, while helping a very worthy cause (see next paragraph).


All proceeds from this sale will be donated to a scholarship fund established in memory of my son, Chris, at the University of Mary Washington, where he was in attendance at the time of his death in 2008. The scholarship helps students with financial need and/or a disability attend college, and has now provided almost $25,000 in assistance over the past eight years.
