The Naturals? - It was you.
Very rare unreleased demo version of this 1st Pete Townsend composition.
This had me scratching my head for weeks!! It is different from The Naturals released b side from 1964. It is much more of an early Beatles sounding production than the released version. It is different from the clip of a Who acetate of this song from 64. At one point I thought it could be The Who's first group 'The Detours' demo acetate.
I sent a clip to the nice chap who runs the Who website in Germany and he thinks it is an unreleased early demo by The Naturals rather than The Detours. But I guess we will never know.
Either way. A rare chance to get an unreleased version of Pete Townsend's 1st song...whoever it may be by.
The acetate itself is uncredited, but obviously an early 60's UK pressing. It simply says demo. And no band name.
The acetate plays with crackle. There are some issues towards the end where the recording dips in and out. I cant be sure if it's the early recording, or if its on the acetate. I've played in on 2 decks and one it seems okay, while the other more noticeable. Still a nice thing.
