ONE OF NAZARETH'S COMMING of age albums. 'Rampant' showcases the band locking into a full on hard rock groove with guitars a blazing and vocalist Dan McCafferty literally coughing blood as he screams the house down. Produced expertly, by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover the balance between material and performance is perfectly excecuted alowing every member of the band to shine brightly.
Kicking off with 'Silver Dollar Forger' the fist in the face approach is made perfectly clear and cleverly they don't take their foot off the gas peddle for the entire first side. 'Glad When You're Gone' and 'Shanghai'd In Shanghai' compound the energy level but it's the ballard 'Loved And Lost' that ups the anti considerably.
Their is one cover version; The Yardbirds 'Shapes Of Things', a huge improvement on the original (how many cover versions can you say that about?). This is possibly the best Nazareth track that nobody ever talks about - McCafferty's vocals are so astounding that you can imagine the blood verssels in his face were about to explode with rage.

Vinyl: Beautiful condition - extremely clean. Displays a few spindle marks on label. Some minor scuffs visable under a bright light due to sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as MINT-!
Cover: A beautifully designed and illustrated gold embossed cover. Only light signs of use. Sharp corners (slightly rubbed), no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no grubyness and no creases. Displays minor handling wear to edges. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 40 years after release. Grades as a strong Ex
Inserts: Lyric inner sleeve and the often missing Dollar Bill sticker - extremely rare.
