Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy (from the Presswell pressing) of the second LP by Philadelphia group the Nazz, released in 1969. Led by future solo artist and producer Todd Rundgren, the group played a combination of late '60s hard rock and pop, epitomized by both sides of their 1968 debut single, "Open My Eyes" (which was included on the seminal 1972 comp Nuggets) and "Hello It's Me" (a re-recorded version of which became a hit for Rundgren a few years later). The group's second and third LPs were originally envisioned as a double LP to be called Fungo Bat, but for various reasons the project failed to materialize, and only this LP came out at the time. (Almost all of the rest of the tracks were issued posthumously as Nazz III.) This LP contains a greater proportion of rockers than the later release, and while it's not quite up to the level of the group's fine debut, it contains a lot of good music, from rockers like "Forget All About It" and "Under the Ice" to ballads like "Gonna Cry Today." The jacket is close to M- with light corner and seam wear, and light scuffing on the front cover (EX+). The disc is clean with some light scraping and scuffing, and plays with occasional light surface noise (EX+).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
