A truly exceptional collector’s copy combining three highly desirable features: an extremely rare ETERNA white-label Musterplatte, a handwritten Oistrakh autograph and a beautifully preserved Near Mint record.

WHITE-LABEL MUSTERPLATTE

This is not the regular commercial ETERNA pressing. Both sides carry the special white sample labels identifying this copy as a non-standard promotional or archival issue.

Such white-label ETERNA copies were intended for internal, promotional or review purposes and are encountered far less frequently than the normal commercial editions. Please study the detailed label photographs carefully.

PERSONALLY SIGNED BY OISTRAKH

The copy bears a personally written Oistrakh autograph, giving it an important additional historical and documentary dimension.

As both David and Igor Oistrakh perform on this recording, the signature is deliberately described simply as “signed Oistrakh” unless it can be conclusively attributed to one of them. No separate certificate of authenticity is included; the original handwritten signature is shown clearly in the photographs for the buyer’s own assessment.

VINYL: TOP NEAR MINT / ARCHIVE QUALITY

An exceptionally beautiful record with a deep, brilliant surface and outstanding visual preservation.

The vinyl appears to have been played very little and treated with the greatest possible care. No significant scratches, groove wear or disturbing handling marks are visible. For an opened record of this age, the condition could scarcely be better.

A genuinely impressive collector’s example.

COVER: STRONG VG++ / CLOSE TO NEAR MINT

The original cover is remarkably well preserved and presents beautifully.

Only light cosmetic signs of age and careful storage prevent a full Near Mint grading. The construction remains solid and attractive, with no serious damage. The handwritten Oistrakh autograph has also survived in excellent condition.

THE RECORDING

This historic father-and-son collaboration brings together David Oistrakh and Igor Oistrakh, two representatives of one of the twentieth century’s most distinguished violin traditions.

The underlying performances were recorded in Leipzig in April 1957. The combination of the Oistrakhs’ powerful tone, disciplined ensemble playing and unmistakable musical authority makes this an especially compelling interpretation of two central Baroque works for paired solo violins.

The Bach concerto is conducted by Sir Eugene Goossens, while David Oistrakh himself conducts the Vivaldi performance.
