Description
You are bidding on the 1982 debut 7" by Negative Approach. NA was arguably the best hardcore band Detroit ever produced, and this 10-song ep, one of the first Touch N Go releases, is a facemelting slab of perfect energy, anger, speed and all out raw power that set the bar high and helped define all of hardcore to come. I could talk it up to death, but anyone who knows already knows it's absolutely essential, not to mention one of the harder to find pieces of punk history. This is a must-have for any collector, and if you're reading this far, you've probably been looking for this jam for a while!
I bought this copy directly from NA/Laughing Hyenas/Easy Action singer John Brannon when I lived in Ann Arbor. He had a box left over and was selling them to the record store I worked at. This was back in 1997.
The official numbers from Touch N Go are that there were two pressings ever of this record, 1,000 of each for a total of 2,000 copies ever worldwide. This one is from the second pressing, and you can tell from the red ink on the white center labels. The first pressing had black ink. This record has been cleaned on a professional VPI machine. The sleeve and vinyl are both in very good condition. The vinyl has some slight marks, but plays great and has some minimal surface noise, but no more than it did when it was pressed up 25 years ago. The sleeve is free of markings, major ringwear, defacement and the like, but is somewhat scuffy from years of storage and moves. Overall the record and sleeve are in great shape. This copy doesn't have the original lyric insert that came with most copies. I've seen this record go on eBay recently for upwards of 2 or 3 hundred bucks, but I haven't set a reserve. No insert, no reserve!! Domestic shipping via Priority Mail is $5.00 and includes delivery confirmation. This usually takes 2-3 days. International shipping would be $8.00 for Airmail Letter Post and generally takes 4-7 days. The record will be packed carefully in a sturdy cardboard mailer, created just for the purpose of sending records undamaged through the mail.
