ORIGINAL CANADIAN REPRISE (RS 6317) FIRST (REVISED) PRESSING (January 1969) OF NEIL YOUNGS SUPERB EPONYMOUS DEBUT LP IN BEAUTIFUL, BARELY PLAYED CONDITION - THE LABELS HAVE ONLY ONE LIGHT SPINDLE TRACE AND THE VINYL SURFACES SHINE LIKE NEW - THIS IS FANTASTIC COPY WHICH PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT WITH JUST ABOUT THE FINEST AUDIO YOU ARE LIKELY TO FIND

The album was originally released on November 12, 1968 (Neil Young's 23rd birthday). This first release used the Haeco-CSG encoding system, technology intended to make stereo records compatible with mono record players, but it had the unfortunate side effect of degrading the sound in both stereo and mono. Young was unhappy with the sound quality so the album was partially remixed in January 1969 and re-issued without Haeco-CSG processing

LABELS: Clean, bright, unmarked and like-new with only one light spindle trace evident - this copy may have only been played just the one time
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen and apart from one extremely light and superficial (small) brush mark on Side Two they appear as-new - great copy
VINYL Audio: Beautiful audio delivery on these original thick vinyl issues with a deep, rich and warm but sharp and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (and it's always a real pleasure to return to this wonderful LP) there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps and no clicks or pops. There is however, a (very) little surface noise on the run-ins and between some (not all) of the tracks - but nothing I found at all intrusive, and I did play-grade at a very loud volume. This was never one of Neil Young's cleanest pressed LPs (even when new - which essentially this is!) and in all honesty I don't think you will find a finer sounding copy. The record plays to a very, very high standard throughout with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion, sounds wonderful and is critically and conservatively graded EXCELLENT+ for audio - but as I said, I really don't think you will find another original Canadian pressing which sounds better - great stuff and undoubtably the finest copy I have seen - highly recommended
SLEEVE: The original thick card gatefold (with no name), printed in the USA is in beautiful condition - good and solid with no structural damage and crisp, sharp, square edges with no signs of storage wear. There are a couple of minor 'knocks' to the thick spine (please see photos) but the spine is straight and true with no creases and all text is clear and bold. The outer surfaces are unrubbed (with just a little record impression on the back) and the inner surfaces (with pasted on photo and lyrics) are practically as-new - EXCELLENT+

NOTE: THE LINE YOU CAN SEE ON THE PHOTOS OF THE VINYL SURFACES IS A REFLECTION FROM THE WINDOW AND IS NOT ON THE VINYL ITSELF
