Description

Neil Young “After The Gold Rush” SEALED 1970 ORIGINALFIRSTPRESSING LP (Reprise RS6383) RARE FACTORY-SEALED September 1970 pressing LP with
"PIANO: Nils Lofgren" credit on FIRST PRINTING back cover.  Obtained
from person who purchased the LP (and received another copy) on his
birthday September 19th, 1970.  The LP inside is almost-certainly a
first pressing with (31,009)/(31,010) master numbers printed on the
labels, it cannot be guaranteed.  Unlike original 1960s sealed U.S.
Capitol BEATLES LPs, labels/pressing dates of 1970s original sealed
U.S. Reprise LPs can't be identified with 100% certainty.  However,
according to THE Neil Young Discography website, only 5% of "PIANO:
Nils Lofgren" covers contain second pressing LPs with (31,009RE1)/
(31,010RE1) matrix numbers.  Even so, those second pressing LPs are
pressed from the same CPR-Santa Maria stampers, so only the labels
are different, not the mastering. That said, I can't guarantee what
the label matrix #'s are, but cover does contain a first master LP.
condition:
Although there are a few minor tears (1cm-4cm at the corners, 1.8cm
L-shaped tear at top/middle of back cover), the GUARANTEED ORIGINAL
SHRINKWRAP is 95% intact. The 2mm round "air hole" on back confirms
that the tight, slightly brittle shrinkwrap is AUTHENTIC 1970 wrap!
The corner tears were caused by age, but the small tear on back was
caused by me while I was "carefully" cleaning some minor "shopwear"
