SOME NOTES ABOUT THIS "STEAMBOAT " 1ST PRESSING.......................

This is an original UK pressing on the rare tri-colour Reprise label known as the "Steamboat" or "Riverboat" label.

This album was first released in the UK on May 14th 1969 and this "Steamboat" label is extremely rare.

Both the record and laminated flipback sleeve are in superb condition - quite simply the best that I have ever seen.

The buyer will NOT be disappointed.

These earliest UK pressings were pressed onto some of the heaviest and best quality vinyl ever used in the manufacture of records. This particular vinyl record weighs an astonishing 175 grams - a real slab of late 1960's quality vinyl.

Not many sold in this first pressing before they were transferred to the Reprise tan label.

All of these UK first pressings were distributed in front-laminated ‘flip-back’ sleeves made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. and with the Warner Bros. Seven Arts Records Ltd. label at the rear bottom left.

The increasing popularity of the album led to a re-release in the UK in 1971 as a second pressing reissue on the Reprise tan-colour label prefixed with the ‘K’ series Kinney Corporation catalogue prefix.

This was because The Kinney Corporation had taken over Warner Bros. Seven Arts Records who in turn had owned Reprise.

The disc clearly has had VERY light use and has been looked after with beautiful clean surfaces and no lines just handling and paper scuff marks around the run-out grooves.
None of these are significant and the album plays superbly well with little bit of crackle in between tracks amd a single click towards end of title track
With original poly-lined inner sleeve
Hardly any marks at all around the spindle hole both sides

ORIGINAL FRONT LAMINATED ORIGINAL GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE GRADED EXCELLENT WITH NO EDGE WEAR AND ONLY TINY CORNER WEAR.
This original sleeve is in SUPERB condition and has NO rips, tears, seam splits, stains, scribble, stickers or sellotape damage.
Flat bright and clean with nice edges and beautiful spine and NO feathering at the opening.
The only defects are the corner wear and a little grubbiness on the rear.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS RECORD IS NOW OVER 47 YEARS OLD !

SO HARD TO FIND NOW IN ANY CONDITION.
