****DETAILS : Frankly, The coolest looking version of this LP is this version.

This is a: Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute pressing variant of the original
US release as indicated by "T1" etched in the runout areas. LH denotes mastered by Leo Hulko.
Matrix / Runout (Side A, runout, ): MS 2032 31176-2A STERLING LH 2
Matrix / Runout (Side B, runout, ): MS-2032 31177-T STERLING T1
after the initial textured cover presses, later sleeves have less and less texture like a regular matte finish, eventually having a slickness to them and just becoming a glossy tan, even, color by the 80s...but there seemed to be distinct variations of the amount of texture in the cover in the different pressing plants across the USA and different cover stocks used
this variant from Terre Haute is a tone darker overall but has highlights as you turn it in the light, and has little flecks of darker material some of which are a lil chunky and stand out, raised from the sleeve
A longtime fan of this record but not hip to it in 1972, we bought several copies/diff presses of this LP as years went by, and seemingly rougher and rougher cover variants until we got one of these Terre Haute variants, what we thought must be an "original" first pressing. We later realized we owned a few first pressings of this, just from different pressing plants with different textures to the cover.
These ones (these Terre Haute presses) we believe most achieved the "ostrich leather" effect as they called it and remain the harder to find. But there may be another variant from a diff plant that maybe shared a batch of the same cover stock with a diff press of the vinyl inside, as we don't have every variation of cover/LP for this first press to compare. At any rate, when you see one in person, you see how it stands out..it's distinctly more..woodsy...kinda burlap
