This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'On The Beach' by Neil Young. This press is complete with the early A4//B5 matrix, the dark tan Reprise label, the 1st press sand credit inner sleeve and the essential flower print on the inside of the cover.
The record is in Very Good condition. It has a superb high gloss, there is no whitening of the grooves or signs of heavy play it just has a few very light marks, most of which have probably come from the card inner sleeve. The 1st press deep tan grooved Reprise labels are completely clean. The colour is bold and the black text is sharp. There is just the very slightest spindle wear. There is a small white patch on the centre but this is from the original pressing. On playing the sound is warm, rich and very clear. There are moments of background noise but these are brief. The record sounds wonderful.
The 1st press credit inner sleeve is in fabulous Excellent condition. The white is extremely bright and all the text and images are very clear. There is is slight wear to one corner otherwise it is immaculate.
The 1st press sleeve is in Excellent condition. This record was stored in a sleeve for years and as such has remained exceptionally solid. The colours are lovely and bright and the images are sharp. The edges are very firm. There is just the very slightest ring and corner wear. The rare 1st press only inside flower print looks superb. The colours are vibrant and there is no sign of age at all. The whole cover still feels very solid and the spine is firm with clear text.
