Description
Offered here is a 12 inch single-sided 78 rpm record by one of the most legendary operatic singers of the early 20th century, soprano Nellie Melba. Her fame was so great that she was one of the few opera singers to be granted a special label for her records. These "Melba" labels were used in England and the U.S. for her early discs. Here is one of the U.S issues by the Victor company. She performs "Lo, Hear the Gentle Lark". This is Victor issue 95027. Condition is E- to V+; there are some surface marks and scuffs but the record plays quite cleanly. The label is quite nice. These Melba records are rare in any condition and doubly desirable in the condition offered here. Shipping is $4.00 in the U.S.; foreign shipping to be determined at close.
