NEW MUSIK - CLIVE GATES : Things Need Maintainance (mispelling for "Maintenance" I guess)

PRT STUDIOS / RONDOR MUSIC LTD UK 1982 7" ONE-SIDED ACETATE

Super scarce original 1-sided acetate of an unreleased single by the great electro synth & synth-pop artist and band - not sure if this would be a solo release by keybordist Clive Gates or by the band as both names of artist and band are written on the label of the acetate. Date is a guess as PRT Studios is a follow-up name to PYE Studios since late 1980 - so this release would be either a solo or band's single after their last 1982 single WARP (EPIC 1982). Could be late 1980 or 1981 though, a withdrawn release during the period of their other recordings. Musically its a fabulous electro synth instrumental, rather minimal than synth-pop, really pleasant and modern. Condition is very nice for an acetate. The PRT label is pressed above a French PYRAL label which can be seen on the blank side of the acetate too. A very obscure and really unique punk/new wave collectible.
