MOONDOG AND HIS DRUMS ON SMC PRO-ARTE 78 2523

  • Titles are 'Snaketime Rhythms parts 1 and 2’ ......................................................................................Moondog, born Louis Thomas Hardin (May 26, 1916 – September 8, 1999), was a blind American composer, musician, poet and inventor of several musical instruments. In New York from the late 1940s until he left in 1972, he could often be found on 6th Avenue between 52nd and 55th Street wearing a cloak and Viking-style helmet, sometimes busking or selling music, but often just standing silent and still. He was widely recognized as "the Viking of 6th Avenue" by thousands of passersby and residents who had no idea that this seemingly homeless eccentric standing on "Moondog's corner" was a respected and recorded composer and musician. He died in Germany aged 83 in 1999.
  • Here are the details:
  1. The record is in V condition with some light fade marks. There is a small scratch at the start of side 2 and (I think) the tiniest of skips but plays fine overall .

  2. The labels are fine.

  3. Shipping prices have just been increased to keep apace with recent rises. Within the US it will be $5.00 media mail despite what is says elsewhere in this listing. Rates outside the US will be advised except that it now costs $19 to send to Canada and not as advertized elsewhere in this listing.

  4. Full refund is given for any reason if goods are returned within 10 days of receipt
