NEXT MORNING heavy psych prog rock LP on Calla '71 nice

Up for auction is an excellent, very scarce progressive hard rock / psych LP by the group THE NEXT MORNING.  Self-titled, this is an original pressing on the CALLA label from 1973.  Catalog number is SC-2002, stereo pressing.  Label colour is white, with black print, promotional copy.      

Personnel are as follows: Lou Phillips – vocals; Scipio Sargeant – bass; Bert Bailey – guitar, Herbert Bailey – drums, and Earl Arthur – organ. 

Similar to hard rock/psych bands such as Black Merda, Ernie Joseph, Purple Image, and of course Jimi Hendrix Experience whose influence is apparent.  Propelled by Arthur's insane keyboards and Bert Bailey's wicked feedback drenched guitar, self-penned material such as "Changes of the Mind,” “Life Is Love,” and “Back To the Stone Age”  offered up impressive slices of Hendrix-styled heavy rock.  The comparison was further underscored by the fact that Lou Phillips' vocals bore a modest resemblance to Hendrix.

Overall a first rate set of performances that should appeal to guitar rock fans.

Condition is of jacket is fairly nice, with no writing or stickers, however there are some flaws due to storage, including some minor ring wear and considerable wear along the seams, including splits on the top seam.  Bumps on several corners.  Punch hole in upper right corner to indicate cutout.  Not perfect by any means, but probably quite acceptable to most collectors.   Includes printed full colour Roulette/Calla inner sleeve in pristine near mint condition with photos of then-current album releases.    

Vinyl is NEAR MINT, appears unplayed, plays beautifully with full clean fidelity. 

Guaranteed to be authentic and original, not a reissue.  I think the winning bidder will be very pleased.  (Note: I found only one copy available elsewhere on the internet with an asking price of $175 for a VG+ copy.)
