Description
The original UK issue 6309 008 was a 1970 gatefold. This Fontana pressing from Spain has a 'legal licence' date of 1971 on the labels with the same catalogue number repeated on the sleeve, labels and machine etched matrix on the dead wax runoffs.
This particular sleeve is a single and is laminated front and back with the flaps folded back inside so it's a sturdy offering. Note that the photo of the front doesn't show a blemish at the mouth, it's just a camera reflection off the laminate. Is a nice square, clean, solid cover. It does show ringwear and a few laminate creases but other than that is in fine form. I give it 8.5 /10 for condition.
The black / silver labels are clean with signs at the spindle holes of a few plays. I like the fact the English track titles are followed by Spanish translations which makes this record rather novel. For the vinyl itself, it's flat with no dishing. In normal room and day light the shiny playing surfaces look minty. Under the all knowing, unforgiving and evil desk lamp I've angled the plastic and see a few very light scuff marks etc; this is a legacy of age and handling and I always see these even for erstwhile pristine albums. Anyway, I give the vinyl a rating of 8.5 /10 at worse.......probably warrants a 9 but it pays to be conservative for you, the buyer.
Lastly, the clean inner sleeve is polythene lined and as such has protected the record over all these years.
