NICK DRAKE LP FRUIT TREE: THE COMPLETE RECORDED WORKS (Island Records 7072/4) Released 1979.
Sumptuous UK Box Set from 1979. Three records set with substantial booklet illustrated with fine photographs. Included in booklet are lyrics & biography by Arthur Lubow. Playing on these songs are John Cale, Richard Thompson, Paul Harris & Dave Pegg (and others). Two of the albums were first released in 1970, the third in 1972. Each of the three inner jackets has a different portrait of Nick. The discs have been stored long term in plastic-lined inner sleeves. This album belonged to a friend of mine. He is a serious collector who purchased it new & has taken great care of this & many others I have lately auctioned. (By the way, if you are lucky enough to have won my Big Star LP, tell me that you too hear a similarity between them & Nick). (Stamped Matrix #: "ND 1001 A-10 JONZ").
DISCS - NEAR MINT
We give great importance to grading our items accurately. The original owner took good care of this record & stored it well. Free of scratches, streaks, stains, skips, pits, shiver scrapes, warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. Sides one through four have a slight loss of surface rainbow sheen yet they still sound wonderful. Album has been stored upright in a climate-controlled environment.
BOX - VG+
No marks, stains, smudges, ink spills, writing, stickers, puncture holes, price tags, or color fading. No ring wear or rubbing. The torn seam in top right corner has been successfully taped back together. There are no frays showing. Slight amount of half-inch waves from paper separation along 5% of the front. A minor blemish! The booklet & inner jackets are nearly free of stains. They have no other blemishes. Two or three very faint quarter-inch marks, but no creases, tears or writing. Labels are in great shape. Sharp cut holes are free of spindle brushings.
