And now for THE BIG ONE!!!! Well you really do not need me to tell you that this really is one of the rarest vintage records on the market..... and also the one with the most beautiful music from a most sadly missed legend that is Nick Drake who will never be replaced. This is an incredibly scarce VERY FIRST UK pressing on the ROUGH TEXTURED BLACK BLOCK PINK ISLAND LABEL from 1969. Not only that but the vinyl has been very LIGHTLY PLAYED and is in EX to EX+ condition (side A, EX and side B, EX++). In normal daylight the surfaces look almost pristine. Absolutely no marks of any significance. In more intense lighting there are a few light marks/ hairlines. As I say a very lightly played genuine original copy which I have personally owned for about 20 years now. I have play tested it and can report FULL UNWORN CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND with just the expected slight low level crackle in the background during the quietest parts. Record ILPS 9105 with matrices A//2 ( I think the stamper code is either 11 or 17) and B//2 (I think the stamper code is a 1 and then a half centimetre next to it is another figure 1). This proves one of the very earliest UK pressings ever made. The Unlaminated gatefold cover is in VG to VG+ condition and amde of course by E J Day -says '1969 Warlock Music Ltd. on the back of the cover. Apart from wear to the spine some slight signs of ringwear to the central top and central rear parts of the front cover, some bumping to the corner tips and a little ageing grubbiness to the back the cover is generally in a very reasonable shape. The inside of the gatefold with the lyrics/ picture of Nick is fine. I housed it in a thick plastic sleeve. By no means a top cover but certainly acceptable so VG would be fair. Sorry I currently do not have facilities to exhibit photos. So a VG cover and at least an EX heavy duty record carefully looked after by me for the last 20 years having bought it from a friend, the original owner who has sadly since died.
