'Pink Moon'
Island, UK, 1972
ILPS 9184
Of course its a classic- nobody would deny that. Beautiful in every respect from the musical content to the wonderfully evocative artwork this is a record that should be compulsory listening for every human being on the planet.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Island, UK, 1972 - original pink rim label
Vinyl: Minor signs of use. Virtually no spindle marks on labels and no other signs of use. Lovely clean and shiny condition. Side two is about as MINT as you can find. Side one is also super clean and shiny but displays a few factory pressing marks on track 1 bleeding into track 2. Playback reveals clicks, snap, crackle and pop on the first track and a little on the second track. Apart from those two tracks grading elsewhere is top MINT-!
Cover: Issued in a beautifully illustrated matt finish gate-fold cover - retains original bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, one bend top right on rear panel, no ring wear, no split seams and a couple of spidery creases emanating from spine which is straight, square and stiff. Grades as a very nice Ex+
Inserts: Original blue Island inner sleeve
Matrix:
1st Pressing
Side One: ILPS 9184 A-1U
Side Two: ILPS 9184 B-1U
