The Nig-Heist were a joke-rock band led by vocalist Steve "Mugger" Corbin. Mugger is best remembered as a roadie for Black Flag and was a one-time co-owner of SST Records. For the Nig-Hiest, Mugger was backed by a revolving door of musicians, generally drawn from the Black Flag/SST circle, most of whom played in disguise or behind amplifiers on stage. The lyrics were generally about crude and vulgar obsessions with sex, as the band's main goal was to antagonize and irritate audiences. Despite the connections to SST Records, the band's sole 7" and LP were released on the Thermidor label, as Mugger later stated that he did not want to divert funds from the cash-strapped SST for a project that basically a goof. The band's peak was most likely an opening slot on Black Flag and the Meat Puppet's 1984 tour.

They played naked every time, and at our local venue - The Metron, Harrisburg, PA - the house turned them off until they put underwear on... This album is NOT for the easily offended..."
