NIGHT WITHOUT SLEEP..Art songs by Paul Bowles, lyrics mostly by Charles Henri Ford with one by painter Joe Massey. Romolo de Spirito, tenor (or light baritone), Carrington Welch at the piano. DISC Album 730, 3 10-inch discs. Cover is appropriately nightmarish but I don't know if it's one of David Stone Martin's..no identification. This was reviewed in Billboard in March 1947 as "entirely mystic and highly imaginative", and the performers "in a world of their own..a dream world". It also suggested that "the psychiatrists" would have to interpret the meanings of the songs, because the printed lyrics didn't help. (They also aren't included in this set.)

Discs E but typical Disc pressings, i.e. noisy. Slight warps. Album slightly scuffed, pockets split (repaired). Booklet missing.
