Description
For auction today: Nina Simone's debut lp as an original Australian pressing on Parlophone # PMCO-7510.
Label is black with gold print. A mono pressing, which is keeping in-line with the original first US issue on Bethlehem # BCP 6028 which was in mono also....not the later stereo 2nd pressing, there.
The 1st Aust press. of the Beatles' debut lp comes to mind when I see this gold and black label.
Condition: Cover has very feint r/wear noticable only when angled towards the light. Pinched spine, as shown. I love the pinched spine effect. Looks great.
Rear is different look to the US issue with text placed differently etc... Flipback design/format.
Feint rubbing to top flap only. No r/wear on this mainly white rear cover, which is somewhat miraculous, given the age of it. No splits or unwanted writing.
Disc surface is SUPERB!! No marks or scratches at all. It has been played once by me and otherwise, looks like was handled with GREAT care previously or not played at all. TONS of gloss!!! STUNNING!!
Clean labels with only a hint of spindle marks on 1 side, That;s it.
Plays with slight b/ground noise. Could do with a clean on VPI or similar machine to remove dirt. Audio is crisp and clear.
One of the rarest lp's I have had in 20 years of dealing in records.
