NIRVANA. BLEACH. Australian WATERFRONT label. WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING.
Catalogue number : DAMP-114 Matrix code A side : DMX 71211 ®2AC Matrix code B side : DMX 71212 ®2C It is rumoured that possibly only 20 or so test pressings of this album were produced. A handfull of these were sold directly by Frank Cotterel himself, owner of Waterfront Records, and possibly only single figures have an accompanying A4 letter of authenticity composed and signed by Frank in person. This is one of those albums. Thereby making it absolutely as rare as hen's teeth.
The white labels have a handwritten text in black ink on the "A" side only, stating, 'NIRAVANA' : "it was written on the LPs in error by non-English speaking employees at the pressing plant. According to Frank Cotterel, owner of Waterfront Records, this appears on all of the known test pressings, and was the source of much amusement to himself and his business partner at Waterfront, along with other English speaking employees."
The record is housed in a thin semi-opaque liner inside the original plain white card sleeve with a central die cut hole. There is some browning/yellowing to the card sleeve due to the age.
The vinyl is pristine mint, and, to the best of my knowledge has never been on a record deck. There are no spindle marks at the center holes. The "B" side white label is blank. The matrix codes in both the run outs are hand-etched. The matrix code on the "A" side has been corrected where the letter "A" has been crossed out and replaced with a letter "C".
Shipping costs will depend on the sale price and location of the buyer. For UK buyers it will be sent via Royal Mail Parcelforce 24. For outside the UK it will be sent via Royal Mail Airsure. This record will be mailed in a sturdy purpose made mailer and completely and securely packed. I will not ship this record unless the buyer agrees to it being fully insured. Any questions?
