Some info on the release:  Rare original issue, released in Germany sometime in the early 80's on the FMP side-label Uhlklang (Erhard Hirt, Wolfgang Fuchs, Paul Lytton, etc.). Voice Crack is a challenging listen, but an endlessly intriguing one. For nearly two decades, the Swiss duo of Norbert Möslang and Andy Guhl have been making ominous noise tapestries our of, well, junk -- "cracked everyday electronics," as they call it. Things they find in the garbage. Leftover building materials, shortwave radios on the fritz, broken calculators, whatever they can get their hands on. They transform these unwanted objects into functional electronic instruments and use them to create enigmatic sound collages. This, truly, is industrial music. The duo's first significant exploration into cracked everyday electronic sound improvisation was 1982's Knack On. It's dark, violent, and strangely fascinating in its intuitive commentary about consumer waste and disposable culture.

Norbert Möslang is from St.Gallen, Switzerland. He plays cracked everyday electronics. Möslang was the member of the band Voice Crack (which also featured Günter Müller) until the end of 2002 and has also played in Poire_z. Additionally, he has collaborated with many musicians including Borbetomagus, Otomo Yoshihide, Günter Müller, ErikM, Jerome Noetinger, Lioinel Marchetti, Jim O'rourke, Kevin Drumm, Jason Kahn, Oren Ambarchi, Tomas Korber, Keith Rowe, I-sound, Carlos Zingaro, Florian Hecker and others.? Möslang, like his collaborator for Unsound Festival New York Lizzi Bougatsos, also works in the field of visual arts.

Andy Guhl (b. 1952, Switzerland), is a pioneer sound artist and one of the fathers of European electronic experimental music. Before starting his solo career in 2003 Guhl was a member, with the artist Norbet Möslang, of the legendary duo Voice Crack. As part of Voice Crack, he has strongly influenced multiple generations of musicians and artists of the international noise movement. In 1983 they began to crack everyday electronic devices, manipulate them and experiment with them in performances, breaking down the traditional barrier between daily items and musical instruments and their acoustic perception. In the 1990s the duo expanded their reach into visual representation of acoustic phenomena with installations, such as the "Sound Shifting" at the Venice Biennial 2001. He is currently working with his instrument called "expanded cracked everyday electronics": a sound and image generator that works through a sensor that translates light into sound and generates a totally abstract audiovisual show. Andy Guhl has given numerous concerts, lectures, exhibitions and workshops in many countries, and he is considered to be one of the pioneering artists of the philosophies of Do It Yourself (DIY). 

Condition: Vinyl lies in very good+ condition, looks clean with the exception of some scuffs and light hairlines mainly on side a: and plays ok with light occasional crackle, while cover lies in very good+ shape, with substantial age wear & corner creasings (see picture).
