Notes: GREAT DAVID STONE MARTIN COVER " In the days before NorGran, Clef or Verve, Norman Granz released his "Jazz at the Philharmonic" sessions through an agreement with Mercury Records. In 1948, Mercury had not yet began producing 33rpm Long Play vinyl, so all the initial JATP sessions were released only as 45rpm Box Sets or 78rpm Albums. This is a 1948 First Pressing of Norman Granz' 2nd JATP volume! It features 2 jam sessions by an Octet that features Charlie Parker, Lester Young & Howard McGhee. The 2 tracks--"Blues for Norman" & "I Can't Get Started with You"--are both featured in 3 parts; each of the 3 45rpm EPs have a part of both tracks on either side."
