Description

George Jackson
Mercury 72782
"Don't Use Me" / "I Don't Have The Time To Love You"

Cleaning out the soul boxes - here is a monster two sider, purchased directly from a legendary northern DJ over ten years ago- he wanted my white demo copy.

Northern soulies prefer the soaring midtempo ballad, "I Don't Have...", while the mod soulies and even garage types dig the trebly fuzz guitar powered hipshaker, "Don't Use Me".  The finest effort from Baltimore, Maryland's soul shouter!

Record grades Mint Minus Collectors know - most Mercury label styrene pressings can be noisy or suffer from playwear distortion if they were not well cared for.  Even if they look visually clean.
This 45 still looks like it came directly off the store shelf.  Absolute 'cherry' copy!  Sounds perfect and without any defects.
The only flaws are very minor: slight ringwear from glue bubbles on the A side as seen in the label photos I have uploaded.  Also, a drill hole for noting as a cut-out in 1968.

Both sides are available to hear on youtube if you require a refresher.

GRADING: I do not us the Ex grade. Your Ex is an equal to my VG+

Mint minus = highest grade, flawless disc or nearly perfect store stock unplayed
VG++ = shows a bit of imperfection on the playing surface, only seen under strong lighting. Labels are clean.
VG+ = begins to show evidence of surface imperfections, mostly hairline scuffs that do not affect play. Disc shows light playwear, still shiny, labels show a bit of wear.
VG = very clean disc, playwear can be seen, more hairlines and a few scratches which are not deep (surface only). Very light surface noise from repeated playwear
VG minus = what every other dealer grades as VG+. Well-worn 45, no gloss, numerous visual imperfections which may or may not sound upon playback. Surface noise is more readily heard - still, the 45 plays well enough to enjoy.
G = record is visually beat up, showing few to many deep scratches, has groove distortion / surface noise in some or most of the song but will play through.
