Billy Davis--Cold Day In June / You Put Me In A Groove--Bell Sound Studios acetate.  Excellent uptempo Northern Soul dancer with fantastic vocals, super beat, and excellent backing band.  The flip is a great funky tune with outstanding guitar, bass, and vocals.  A-side plays through fine; the B-side has a small pressing blister that causes the needle to stick and you have to cue over it to continue.  On a regular vinyl or styrene pressing, the stylus would pass right over the blemish, but the lacquer on these acetates is very thin and unforgiving.  We tried playing it on various turntables and tracked at varying grams, but no luck.  Someone with more knowledge may be able to fix the problem, but we're not going to tamper with it and risk flaking the lacquer.  Still, it's a very rare item.  As far as we know, the cuts are unreleased.  Surface quality is VG; scratches are light.  Labels have very light soiling (some of which may be the aging of the glue beneath labels); song titles and artist are typed.  Sound clips will be included.  Any questions, please e-mail.
