UK LABEL NORTHERN SOUL
I'll be auctioning off a lot of UK label singles over the next year(s), all taken from my own large collection. I've decided to concentrate on collecting US releases, and only keep a few UK label records. Among them are some very collectable 45s indeed, so make sure you don't miss any.
Tonight I'm going to list a couple of 45s on Pama, one of which is definitely NOT "I Just Can't Help Myself" by The Volumes. Owned by the Palmer brothers, the Pama label is loved by both soul fans and skinheads - the latter for it's huge amounts of collectable reggae, which was released on a wide range of subsidiaries (Punch, Camel, Supreme, Escort, Gas, etc, etc).
For soul fans, there was a choice of UK-recorded stuff by The Mohaws and The Crowns, for instance, as well as some obscure US 45s, picked up from odd labels, probably in shifty back room deals. This produced one of the greatest mysteries in the history of UK soul releases, the existence (or not) of PM 755.

Even Pama jumped on the nostalgia bandwagon which dominated the British soul scene during the late 60s/early 70s. We ought to be thankful that they did, or we might never have seen this double-delight made available in the UK.
It was picked up from a US Bell subsidiary - Elf - though, again, one would have thought the UK Bell label would have handled it. Both sides are purely for lovers of fast and furious 'proper' Northern Soul. "Ain't No Danger" is a bass-heavy pounder that has always been in the shadow of it's more famous A-side.
The vinyl on both sides is above excellent, with only very light "spiders webs". The labels are both free of any graffiti or stickers, with just a few marks around the spindle-hole. The centre is still intact, and there are no edge chips.
This record has been played on both sides to verify condition. It comes in my own personalized card cover.
