Description
A very rare and possibly one off chance to obtain a 7" Audiodisc / Lacquer Disc / Acetate recording of It's a Gold and Red World by the Baltimore Bays Soccer / Football team with vocal by Alana Shor and a B side Instrumental version by The Princetons.
It is undated but would be from the late 1960's and was recorded by Audio Devices Inc of New York almost certainly at the original recording of the record which was released as a 7" vinyl single.
The Baltimore Bays were a professional Soccer team and one of the ten charter members of the NPSL prior to playing in the NASL, sadly Soccer was struggling to get a foothold in the USA at the time and the Bays were dissolved in 1969.
This was among items previously belonging to Clive Toye who did much to pioneer the growth of Football / Soccer in the USA, having started at the Baltimore Bays he later went to the New York Cosmos and was responsible for bringing Pele to the team and in later years also did much to help the USA host the 1994 World Cup Finals.
I have not played it and it looks as though it has just been loosely stored as there is no sleeve etc, on the Instrumental or B side there is a small area of paint like residue to the outer edge and some general surface marks which are possibly from handling over the years.
It is a great collectible and makes a very unusual addition to any USA / NPSL / Soccer collection.
