Nubiyan Twist tear into their own back catalogue with NT Soundsystem (Dubplate Inferno), a nine-track rework of material from last year's Find Your Flame LP. Based in London and Leeds, the group hand the reins to bandleader Tom Excell and vocalist Aziza Jaye, who twist each cut into a different club strain - from amapiano and jungle to dub, UK garage and dancehall - laced with the raucous energy of their live sets. Veteran toaster Horseman turns up the heat on the d&b flip of 'Battle Isn't Over', while SkillFul Kxng brings Kingston grit to 'Woman'. The record filters the band's jazz-leaning roots through years of late-night sessions, dubplate cuts and rave lineage, drawing on Excell's work with Chief Rockas and Jaye's collaborations with Mungo's Hi-Fi. A proper soundsystem refit.
