Machined First UK press matrices ending  1Y//2  2//Y//1 the earliest possible issue and according to the mother stampers this copy is one of the very first issued in the first few days.                                       Mother stampers :  1  1 both sides. This has the large Vertigo swirl on side 2, indicating a very first press.





Condition Record/Sleeve: VG+/EX//VG  Extra info: KILLER PROG/JAZZ !! Fantastic 1st NUCLEUS album from 1970 !! Original UK 1st pressing  with GIMMIX CUT OUT !! ORIGINAL NUCLEUS albums are a hard find , don't miss out this opportunity !! They were led by Ian Carr, who had been in the Rendell–Carr Quintet during the mid and late 1960s, and was a respected figure in British jazz for more than forty years. Their jazz-based music evolved from an early sound incorporating elements of progressive and psychedelic rock toward combination with a funkier sound in the mid and late 1970s. Most Nucleus albums are very collectable.
 Gatefold  Sleeve:  VG.  Extremely hard to find this sleeve without any issues. Usually the gimmix cut out has some damage. This one is still in great condition!! The matt sleeves of Vertigo are always very difficult to keep in optimum condition. This sleeve has a wavy feel, more prominently to the front. To the front a ballpoint fill in to the Vertigo icon. Other than that the sleeve is still solid without any major colour loss. No tears, no damage or stains. On that account a hesitant VG.
 


Vinyl: VG++ to EX.  Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen. A SUPERB VINYL COPY WHICH WILL PROVE HARD TO BETTER!!! There are a couple of the usual sleeve retraction paper traces under a strong light. There is one scuff like hairline on side 1 (visible on picture 1 at 5 o'clock).  This has no audio consequence , bar a couple of very low level pops - the record sounds sensational. Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, deep, rich, warm and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there is barely any surface noise. This is a beautifully clean pressing (and I must emphasise again how difficult it is to find a copy which plays this well). The whole LP sounds absolutely stunning and plays to an extremely high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX for audio  - great copy!!  Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.
