The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This is an absolutely gorgeous slab of early quality Vertigo vinyl whisch is pristine!! Two to three plays at the very most!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Ian Carr was the MASTER of well crafted progressive jazz!!! I have twentyfive years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!!
EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND ON THE 'SPACECRAFT' (POST SPIRAL ON THE SWIRL LABEL BUT THIS IS JUST AS HARD IF NOT HARDER TO FIND!!! THIS IS A CORE JAZZ/PROGRESSIVE ALBUM AND LIVES UP TO THE LEGEND THAT IS IAN CARR.

In all my years this is only the third time I have come across this JAZZ/PROGMONSTER. Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl . Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.
Vinyl: NM. A sensational find!!! My regular bidders know that I hardly ever give this grade to a vinyl!! Every once in a while I do come across a near pristine vinyl ... here it is. It is totally UNMARKED!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Fantastic songcraft!! I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips etc. NO marks , NO hairlines etc.
Sleeve: VG++
The sleeve is matt and has the very vulnerable die-cut front. The black field has aged from the front and back and it is a shame that this was not issued in a laminated sleeve. I have never seen a sleeve of this album that did not have some degree of wear. It compares to Vol.4 or Paranoid by Black Sabbath which are also extremely prone for wear. The inside gatefold is immaculate. The spine is scuffed. The back has a tiny scuffmark. There is NO writing and there are NO tears. It has the VO PRICE CODE to the back, ensuring this is the earliest sleeve.
