Description
NUCLEUS Elastic Rock (Vertigo 6360 008) Chris Spedding RARE UK 1st Pressing Swirl EX++
Here`s a RARE UK first pressing of Nucleus` debut album "Elastic Rock", released on Vertigo Records (March 1970).
Nucleus` first album Elastic Rock was recorded in January 1970. A pioneering work in the emerging genre of jazz-rock fusion, band leader (and trumpet virtuoso) Ian Carr was obviously inspired by Miles Davis "going electric" in 1969. However, the seminal Miles Davis album Bitches Brew had not yet been released at the time that Elastic Rock was recorded. According to Carr, the band hadn`t even heard Davis` somewhat less rock-inspired album In A Silent Way, making the appearance of Elastic Rock at this point all the more synchronistic and/or trailblazing.
